I have a first gen Apple Watch, paired to my iPhone 7.

The other day, I did my first 'Outdoor Walk' on my watch. I actually do a walk every day, to and from work, but never thought to actually use the 'Outdoor Walk' feature to track my walks!!

Later on, when I then looked at the Activity app, and looked at my Outdoor Walk, I was amazed that there was a little map, whereby the actual route I had walked, was highlighted on the map!!!

I can only assume that it was my iPhone 7, tracking where I was walking.....?!!!

And if you do Outdoor Walk on a first-gen or a Series 1 (neither of which have onboard GPS) and you don't bring along your iPhone, you won't get a map of the route afterwards.

I usually track some of my longer walks to keep the heart rate sensor more active towards my move goal
