Hi there

We have several users who use outlook for MAC 2011 without any issues, however I have this one user who for some unknown reason the search will not work for her, no matter what word we search on it comes up no results found.

I have tried to reindex have tried to blow away the spotlight config file and start fresh but to no avail.

The weird thing is the same behaviour exists when I have her log on to another mac!

Help needed
Regards Carl

I'm no exchange expert but how is your mail system setup.

Do you have an exchange server or is it over SMTP/POP3?

Could it be permissions? And if you log in onto her machine can you use the search function?

It might be worth deleting her account and re-creating her a new one.

I know permissions sounds stupid but worth a try.

Hi Wambo

Thanks for the response.

We use Exchange via RPC over HTTP, so an external hosted exchange solution.

If I log into her machine as me my inbox can search fine, what I don't understand is now I have had her log into a new mac meaning a new local account and her mailbox exhibits this same behaviour. What gives?

Have asked our hosted exchange guys, if there is anything abnormal about her mailstore, but I cannot see this leading to much.

Hi there,

Did you manage to get this resolved?

I'd try deleting her accounts and adding her all again from fresh.

Maybe try creating her a new user accuont before hand, say instead of the format 'FirstnameLastName' user 'LastnameFirstName' if you know what I mean?

Its a very strange issue.
