Does anyone here use Outlook.com email, Calendar and Contacts?
If so, which client do you have your account setup in, on your MacBook?

I've tried for love and money via Mac mail and it doesn't work. Well, email does via 'Other', but then you get no Calendar or Contacts.

Any feedback welcomed.
Thanks

Won't work - Apple doesn't support mobile exchange. Switch to Google Apps (not free, you'll need your own domain - but it's a long-term solution that'll likely give you the most satisfaction) or keep your email on Outlook and switch your calendar to iCloud.

Outlook.com is neat, but it's not very compatible with Mac OS as Apple probably would prefer for its users to utilize iCloud. iCloud has been terrible for me - it's very basic and iCloud drive never worked for me. My iCloud drive is so messed up that it actually crashes my Macs as soon as I turn it on. Haven't found a way to reset it yet, either.

The best option for me really was to switch to Google Apps. Costs me 5 bucks a month for the subscription and about 10 a year for my own domain. This solution is compatible with pretty much everything and is highly flexible. Google doesn't do ad scanning etc. on Apps accounts so privacy is excellent, too.

...thanks for the info. I've already switched to using my personal domain, on Office 365 ;)
I just found it rather odd, that one can setup Outlook.com on an iPad and iPhone, but, not a MAC. It almost doesn't make any sense.

That's Apple for you.

i use my Outlook.com email on Outlook 2016 for mac and use the web for the calendar. MSFT is currently in the process of switching the outlook.com infrastructure to Office 365's infrastructure so that I will be able to sync my outlook.com's calendar and contacts to Outlook 2016 for mac.

That's a great solution as well, of course. I went with Google because Office 365 doesn't allow me to send emails from aliases, which is something I use on a daily basis

Ah, yes, I used Google Apps prior to 2014. But, then work started using Office 365, and since I support it (IT Support Manager), I decided to switch. In addition, I get to install all the office apps, on Windows and MAC ;)

I have an Office 365 subscription as well, but without the email part. I would have preferred the Microsoft solution. If they ever implement the aliases properly, I'll likely switch

Was this switch completed? Are you able to use Outlook.com properly on your iMac now?

With my latest test using Outlook.com set up as "Exchange" using the built-in apps in El Capitan it seems that everything but Contacts works pretty well. Contacts are there...but with some issues.

Thanks for the info. I created a new Outlook.com account, and all works well with iMac and Office 2016, etc.

Good to hear! I'm still standing by. No way I'm ditching my hotmail.com email that I have used since high school!

I use Airmail in an O365 work environment, all works great, mail, contacts and calendar. There may be features that don't carry over but if so I don't use them...
