Please can someone help me with the settings of my www.outlook.com email address in Apple's mail. So far I got my emails coming in and then I couldnt send outgoing emails. Now I've lost the lot.

Outlook.com is simply an uglier interface for Live.com [or Hotmail.com]. The two important settings are your POP and SMTP servers.

Incoming Mail Server: pop3.live.com
User Name: {Use your complete email address}
Password: {Use your password.}

Click [Server Settings] for your outgoing mail server.

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.live.com

Server port: 587​

Check Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

Authentication: [Password]
User Name: {Use your complete email address}
Password: {Use your password}

If your account uses the Outlook.com domain rather than Live.com, the substitute "outlook" rather "live."

Hi many many thanks for the reply. Its helped me a lot. Its just that I can't seem to get the outgoing mail server to work.

Is there a setting inside the website www.outlook.com that I need to activate? The SMTP server says (offline) and no emails send. I am getting emails though.
