    Hi there

I have a new-ish (bought last november) MBP 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.

What sort of cables and things do I need to output audio+video to hotel room TVs (which seldom have HDMI)?

    thanks!

i would think a 3.5mm TRS to RCA (white, yellow, and red) cable would do it... ?

    that will provide audio ONLY.

for video, will need a mDP->DVI->HDMI converter (assuming that their TVs support HDMI). i think there are mDP->HDMI converters out there.

lol the macbook pro can't output video via trs.

in short: the mDP on the MBP won't output to video without some help.

    jacked from http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/1011186-post7.html:

the monoprice link in the quote has what you'll need and I bolded for emphasis.

Unfortunately not, the 5th gen iPods can, but not the macs. Eddie summed it up very nicely.
