I've never heard of it but I do know that the ipod touch's processor is a 700mhz processor underclocked to 400mhz, so getting the clockspeed higher through some sort of hack wouldn't be far fetched. Maybe apple's saving the horsepower so current ipods can match future ipod features, they just unlock the speed through a firmware update.
 
How on earth do you overclock a processor over FTP? 😕

FTP's use is to transfer files, not that kind of stuff.

hey i herd dis rumor on an obscure forum not sure if its true i wont cite any reference though ill just spread this rumor a bit more it is totally a macrumor
 
However, if you overclock the ipod, the battery life will decrease some more. Right now i dont see the point of overclocking the device. The interface is smooth and there arent any resource demanding apps out there yet 🙂
