Well, I have search google, etc. and I'm still confused with what over-clocking is, I have a brief understanding that it increases the CPU rate but what will an increased CPU benefit me? I would love to improve my MBPs performance but will over clocking bring any harm to my MBP?

    Sorry, I am not very computer-smart :p

    Thanks,

First of all, it's nearly impossible on a Mac. Secondly, it's really not necessary as your Mac is designed to run at a certain clock speed and dissipate heat accordingly.

Over clocking your CPU will not bring any real noticeable difference in performance for everyday use. Chances are if it's not done correctly, or properly cooled, you'd see a decrease in performance and an increase in system errors.

Over clocking is popular on PC's and much easier to do.
