The original stand is the best

try to find a used one on ebay

I used some extra strength velcro its pretty much bolted to my desk

I love not having to fiddle with wires, I can place it and remove it with one hand in less than a second

Expensive, but worth the convenience alone.

but if you have a case, the dock made specifically for the 3g doesnt work. and the universal dock costs so much because it comes with tons of adapters.

i have the iphone 3g dock its soo light weight, i like the universal more because its heavier and u dont have to hold the dock down to remove the phone like u do with the 3g dock

No need for a case ( Apple is not responsible for making a dock that fits with cases, thats up to a third party, the dock works flawlessly with my 3G)

Hence the Velcro, which has worked beautifully for several months now

If you just want a bendable plastic stand that is cheap i would recommend the ibend stand for $5..

And Apple is not responsible for making a dock that won't tip over, right?

And if it works "flawlessly" why do you need to jury-rig it with velcro?
