Overcast syncing to Apple Watch?

Anyone have any tips on how to get podcasts to sync from iPhone to Apple Watch using Overcast? Nothing seems to work reliably, I've tried both queue and playlist options. Nearly every download almost always fails.

Not a space issue, either. And I leave both devices, plugged in and next to each other, for hours.

It's been a while since I've used it, but I remember Marco talking about it on a Podcast, and I think you need to keep the overcast app on the watch open and active the entire syncing time.

Yeah. The syncing is really intermittent and I'm not going to sit in one place while each podcast syncs individually.

I just wish you could more easily skip forward and back with Apple podcasts.

I also had tons of issues. Went back to Podcasts.app. Then I listen to ATP podcast and all I hear is Marco talking about his recently purchased restaurant..
