Overclock the speed on text-to-speech

Hi,

I use the Text-to-speech feature to read pretty much everything but can't get it to read fast enough. I've turned up the speed to the maximum setting under sytem preferences>Dictation & Speech>Text to Speech>Speaking Rate but is there a way to overclock it?

I'm running OS X 10.9.

One does not "overclock" software. The term is misunderstood and misused.

I think there are third part readers for Mac. Many blind people use them but I have little experience with them

I use speech-to-text pro from the AppStore. You'll have to paste the text in, but you can control the speed.
