Hey all.

I bought my Mac around a year and a half ago, and it's always got pretty hot in use, but lately, its just getting out of hand, it's on for 5-10mins and it starts heating up like crazy.

At this current time, all I am running is Chrome.

The heat is unbearable and highly annoying.

Details of my Macbook Pro:

10.8.3
2.2GHz Intel Core i7
8GB 1333 MHz DDR3

I have attached two iStat's - which were taken around 10 minute apart from each other, any help would be helpful.

I'm nearly at the point of smashing it, the heat makes it unusable.

Thanks in advance.

So when you turn it on, you go directly to a web browser and it starts heating up, with nothing else running?

You really sure that only Chrome process using up the CPU? Take a look in Activity Monitor. If you close Chrome and use other apps, is it getting back to normal?

are you assuming the laptops getting hot just cause the fans on full blast? your temperatures as per the screen shot you put up seems fine im only worried about your gpu diode sensor showing 14 degrees. If its a faulty sensor the fans will spin up.
Do a smc reset and then a apple hardware test and post back.
