Picked up my 3rd Replacement (4th) iPod today, and it seems like it's heating up pretty fast. I can play 15 or so minutes of Stardunk or Archtype (both online games) and my iPod gets hot enough to make my hand sweat. I closed out of all my multitasking apps, but it doesn't seem to have an effect. It heats up on the back towards the top (by the camera). Is this a common issue or what?

It's common, but not an issue.

Mine at its hottest is only about 40 degree Celsius (slightly hotter than your body), after 30 minutes of filming a concert.

Meh still thinking this may be defective. 1 game of Archtype heats up my iPod enough to have the heat go straight through my Grip Vue case.

I don't think this is unusual for high cpu usage apps. If you are concerned, ask a genius, but I know on mine that the more demanding the app the hotter mine gets. This is a bit more pronounced than with my 3g touch.
