This is according to Blackmagic Disc Test since AJA System Test isn't compatible with Lion.

Sata2 - READ: 280MB/s WRITE: 290MB/s
Sata3 - READ: 485MB/s WRITE: 495MB/s

What a difference a Sata port makes! I have noticed a couple spinning beachballs since the upgrade when I had none before. I'll have to look into that more. Not sure if the 2 are related.

can you test for 4k random read and write. long copy like the test you show are not that important if the ssd is for osx small random read write numbers are more important.

if you get 50Mbs for 4k read write pretty good.

I know Blackmagic has changed the way they benchmark SSD's now using Incompressible data rates instead, but my SSD is now only getting:

READ: 100 MB/s WRITE: 180MB/s

This is the same drive in the same SATA port as the last calculations.

I would not buy this drive as the numbers aren't close enough to the claims on their webpage of 208MB/s read, 235MB/s write.
