Ok I have a separate external enclosure which only offers usb and for one drive only. My iMac sees both drives when i put them one at a time in there. I have formatted them to extended journaled. I place both in this new enclosure since I need firewire 800 and 4tb. It doesn't mount or show up in disk utility. What am I doing wrong. I have tried the fw 800, fw400 and usb on this drive enclosure. I have powered off the unit and restarted my mac and still nothing. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help.

is this your model? or this one

if you have either one you must use identical hdds

They are both this drive

The enclosure looks like those, but the part number I think is wrong. The one I bought wasn't for mirroring just a hdd bay. tThe part number on my receipt is OWCMEFW936AL2.
Anyways when I was on the live chat thinking about ordering it in April.
I told the guy I need a bay I could put two drives in, have fw 800 and at least 4tb of storage for movies pics files and stuff. I didn't need redundancy. So i bought this one with the exact same drives anyway, but nothing. He did say that the max I could put in it would be 2x 2tb.

Ok I just typed owc firmware 936ap in google. It took me to their website and I found the download. Hopefully this works.

Thanks.
