I can't say enough good things about OWC. I initially ordered a single drive Elite Pro (aluminum) enclosure and they mistakenly sent the plastic Neptune instead. A quick call to customer support, and within minutes I had a RMA number and an email with a printable shipping lablel. They paid for shipping. I told them which drive I meant to order. They shipped it...and it was not what I should have ordered. MY BAD! I stupidly thought that Standard ATA and SATA meant the same thing. Doh! I explained my mistake and the customer support person listened patiently to my story even though he knew how it was going to end. I'm not the only one who's made that mistake. So they replaced that one too (but I had to pay to ship it back...as I should have...it was my mistake).

So I finally got the right one and was so happy with it (and their customer service) that when I needed a dual drive enclosure, I didn't look anywhere else. The next time I need one, it will be an OWC enclosure. That's just my experience with them.

I have two Neptunes and they do work properly. No issues at all. Your problem is really odd given that older external drive working as expected.

Ditto. OWC is the bomb.

See this post from me on a thread from a guy who thought 5 people's negative experiences were indicative of all OWC experiences.

I bought the mercury elite pro from OWC in february this year and it is faulty. I have had a lot of discussions with tech support and tried a few things that didn't help.
I live in australia. They will fix or replace it but like the other poster here "I'm still fighting with OWC for them to pay shipping on return of the drives."
Except I want them to pay for the shipping for return of the unit itself.
I have emailed Larry and had no reply but his tech support guy told me he is too busy to talk to me.
I have spent hundreds of dollars in the past at OWC.
Now I have a mercury elite pro with 4 x 300TB drives that has a fault, and I haven't had the use out of it since I got it.
I know a lot of people have been happy with OWC, but I don't like having to pay for shipping them a faulty item that has never worked properly and that was extremely expensive.
