I've been using my 6G for about a week now. I see a very slight difference in battery life, maybe losing 20 min total out of the 5 hours I have been getting. The SSD is performing wonderfully. It's super duper fast.

I've ha my 6G about 4 days. It is rapid. A programme I use called Traktor used to boot up in my pc in around 15-20 secs.

Now it comes on when I click within 4s. Unreal speed!

My only regret is that I didn't purchase the 240GB. But I think I will install an Optibay and just put my old drive there until I can get a larger SSD.

Anybody has this Pro 6G 240GB on their 2011 17 model?

Am dying to get feedback before buying one. The thought of installing some aluminium foil on an elegantly crafted machine just doesn't seem tight:confused:

why didnt you got for the vertex 3
I am fond of my battery life and the vertex 3 sucks at that. It is much more expensive too. It is 50% more expensive per GB.
I did read all there is to know (thg and other stuff) about the Vertex 2 and even the worst still beat a X-25M (in most benches) which so many would choose over a vertex for reliability reasons. The 25nm need even a little less power than the 34.
The whole issue is greatly overhyped and I am simply happy it is because I get a big discount. I don't care to much about the reliabilty either. All the really important stuff I sync and backup in the cloud already. Everything else is backup in timemachine and I have enough hdds to deal with any failure. The few percentage points intel may lead in failures are definitely not worth the price in (cost and performance) for me.

I've had my 6G for a while now. No complaints really? I've had the odd beachball in iTunes but my data is on my HDD so it can't be blamed for that.

Start up is around 15secs I reckon. All apps fire up instantly.

I really can't complain.
