Just saw this on the OWC site:

    http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ssd/...013-2015?_ga=1.39263971.1592067271.1449160983

    From their description:
    - Can be used in MBP late-2013 and later.
    - The SSD's were designed by OWC, they are not taken from other Macs.
    - Price is $348 for 480GB, $598 for 1TB (no other sizes available).
    - Performance specs look like 2-lane, not 4-lane PCIe.
    - Looks like SMART isn't supported, it also says TRIM is not supported.

    No TRIM, no sale.

Pity, looks like a good product otherwise.

Edit: actually with further details, it's somewhat lacking - no Bootcamp support, no FileVault support, no TRIM.

A product for those who want more space but don't use bootcamp or drive encryption.

I'm wondering if Apple made it so the way TRIM/SMART commands are executed are different for the Apple SSD vs. other SSD's, making it another roadblock 3rd-party suppliers of a MBP PCIe SSD would have to overcome. Pure speculation on my part.
