You want it to roll, you put wheels on it. You don’t want it to roll, you get it without the wheels. Is this so hard? It’s not like you’re going to use it as a commuter vehicle, or park on steep hills.Still no brakes?![]()

MacRumors reports the price of the Apple wheels, forum members get outraged. MacRumors reports on these OWC wheels, and contrasts that they’re significantly cheaper than Apple’s - the main complaint last time - and they... get called out for advertising? I took it as pointing out that these fix the pricing problem."Just $199"
Totally not an advert for it is it.![]()
Oh, no! I cancelled my order after I saw your post. I wouldn't want you, whoever you are, sir/ma'am, wherever you live, whatever your age...to lose your respect for me. Thanks for caring! To whomever buys this - you have my disrespect, Sir/Ma'am.
And it's not usually the weight, it's that there are no handles to make it easier to handle. I never understand large items in boxes with zero handles.Lifting 40 lbs by your average lazy-butted and overweight American is asking for far too much. (Yes, I'm American.)
Watch the video, it comes with wheel stops. They clip onto the leg for storage when not in use according to product page.

But the device in question is the MacPro. I look at the MacPro on Apple’s website, I see big shiny hard-to-miss handles on the top.And it's not usually the weight, it's that there are no handles to make it easier to handle. I never understand large items in boxes with zero handles.
How many Mac Pros they have at your workplace? These machines are mostly found in post-production facilites and recording studios, usually in purpose-made rooms, sometimes even installed in 19-inch racks.Do you work in an open office environment where you move desk constantly?I do.
Wow!!! I always thought the design was cool but now I see Apple copied it.Proper integrated brake like this.

If I need the MacPro and have sufficient $$ I would go for the Mac wheels, these do their job but just look at them, and it makes the MacPro higher by another (I guess) 8 cm, Fugly.
Yes, often these machines get moved around frequently for the person that needs to use it at the time. Some small studios may only be able to afford a single $30k machine, so it makes it much easier to move it to the person who needs to use it at that time, rather than having to make people pack up their entire desk and move it frequently.
