"Just $199"

Totally not an advert for it is it. ;)
MacRumors reports the price of the Apple wheels, forum members get outraged. MacRumors reports on these OWC wheels, and contrasts that they’re significantly cheaper than Apple’s - the main complaint last time - and they... get called out for advertising? I took it as pointing out that these fix the pricing problem.

Yeah, ok, great. But can you come up with a solution to keep the interior of the machine from becoming a dust magnet? And what's up with the smell of dust? Are we smelling dead skin cells or dust mite poop?

Lifting 40 lbs by your average lazy-butted and overweight American is asking for far too much. (Yes, I'm American.)
And it's not usually the weight, it's that there are no handles to make it easier to handle. I never understand large items in boxes with zero handles.

I keep thinking is says Quick ChaRge wheel kit, then I think of being able to move them by a remote and having Mac Pro Battle Royales.

Watch the video, it comes with wheel stops. They clip onto the leg for storage when not in use according to product page.

Do you work in an open office environment where you move desk constantly? I do.
How many Mac Pros they have at your workplace? These machines are mostly found in post-production facilites and recording studios, usually in purpose-made rooms, sometimes even installed in 19-inch racks.

If I need the MacPro and have sufficient $$ I would go for the Mac wheels, these do their job but just look at them, and it makes the MacPro higher by another (I guess) 8 cm, Fugly.

Not just from an aesthetics perspective, but also from a stability perspective: I wonder how stable this would be with the increased center of gravity.

LOL

Just $200 for 4 wheels,....WOW what a Rip Off!
$25.00...... MAYBE.
Ridiculous.

I had to sell my car to buy my MacPro, now I can have a ride to work again!

Yes, often these machines get moved around frequently for the person that needs to use it at the time. Some small studios may only be able to afford a single $30k machine, so it makes it much easier to move it to the person who needs to use it at that time, rather than having to make people pack up their entire desk and move it frequently.

But who is moving it often enough to need wheels but not so often enough that they don't want wheels?

Do you work in an open office environment where you move desk constantly? I do.

I work in an office where they justified giving us smaller workstations in loud, open plan spaces by _saying_ we would move desk constantly. Nobody has in three years. And now everyone’s working from home. 😬

"Open office workspaces" are the drizzlin' sh!ts. I can't believe companies are still trying to convince employees that they're good for collaboration. They're just about as awful a work environment as you can get, in my opinion.

$199? Is that the tax on it or the cost of it? Oooooh, wait... it doesn’t have that Apple logo on it, so like 50% margins for the manufacturer. All checks out now 😂

We can conclude that Apple Marketing Dept. achieved that the entire world is talking about the wheels accessory for over a year now. Which other Marketing Dept. achieved something like that??

If you would have bought 100 million USD in Apple stocks five months ago, you would be celebrating the wheels.
