Does anyone here have any experience with OWC RAM or external hard drive enclosures? I'm looking at the house brand RAM they sell for the new MBP. The HDD enclosure is the house brand Mercury line that can handle two SATA drives. Has anyone used these? Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

I have an external drive from them, not just the enclosure, and nearly 3tb of internal storage from them. I've also used them for all my ram upgrades. I like their warranty, their prices, and their customer service.

I have a Firewire800 & USB2 SATA Mercury on the Go portable enclosure (for 2.5" drives) and it is pretty awesome. At the time it was pricey, but since:

1) it works
2) it works darn well
3) at the time I couldn't find many options for 2.5" SATA drives that did both firewire and USB

it was worth the price of admission.

I have memory upgrades for my MacBook and my PowerMac from them, as well as an external hard drive enclosure....I have been quite pleased with everything about OWC, as well as their customer service when I decided I didn't want something one time...:)

Honestly I think you would find it somewhat difficult to find very many negative comments about OWC, and that says something in itself! I have been using them almost exclusively for about 5 years (on occasion taking advantage of some newegg.com specials instead) for a LOT of personal and client machine upgrades and there has never been a late delivery, a D.O.A. part or an issue with warranty replacement on the couple of things that have had problems later.

Based on the glowing reviews that OWC products usually get I purchased a dual-drive SATA Firewire enclosure from them a couple months ago.

Last month the unit failed and took a hard drive with it. I RMA'd the enclosure expecting to receive a new unit. Instead I got the exact same hardware back that still has a dead SATA bus. OWC claims the power supply failed which was NOT the case.

I called tech support this morning and I now have to send the unit back in again, at my expense, and with no guarantee I'll get a new enclosure.

I hope OWC lives up to their reputation and this gets resolved quickly but right now I'm an extra $15 in the hole to send them something I shouldn't have received in the first place.
