Had one of those - extremely unreliable and kept dropping USB connections due to low energy passthrough. Ended up getting a CalDigit hub; way more stable.
I agree. OWC in general has very iffy reliability and lifespan in my experience. I don't recall anything except simple x4 NVMe PCIe adapter which survived warranty period without issues.
That aside, with docks like this, it annoys me greatly using unreliable mDP instead full size. Somehow nobody uses mHDMI except photography if even that.

I've been using two 4-disk ThunderBay 4 RAIDs for 11 years, 24/7. I've replaced the HDDs a couple times, of course, but otherwise these things are tanks
