i know this is almost nothing to do with apple hardware,
however, i am trying to upgrade my two computer's memory

in the website they say, it is simple
sign in
shipping/billing
place your order

once i did these 3 steps, i received some weired emails from owc.
one saying
To ensure the fast and successful fulfillment of your order, Other World Computing has engaged to services of a secure credit card verification service. As a policy, Other World Computing verifies the ship to and bill to address information to protect both you, the card holder, as well as Other World Computing from unauthorized credit card use

they sent me email saying
"Thank you for your USD 382.97 order at Other World Computing. To assist the verification process, please click on the link below and follow the instructions appearing on screen:"

there is room to put 4 email addresses
the first time i put one, and clicked submit, and that was it
i mean, i didnt receive anything via email and was shocked to see on the website that my order status saying DENIED APPROVAL

i contacted them via email and they said that verificator didnt accept me

how does this seeming very stupid system work

this time i put two email addresses and i will see what happen.
thanks

Note, i am ordering this form UK and using MasterCard

very interesting, 68 people viewed the thread without anyone replying,
maybe owc are doing something new to me

anyway, my new order status saying Quote Sales or Sales Quote, i cant remeber
anyone know what this menas?

Depending on what kind of card you are using, your billing address must match the shipping address... and the bank verification matches the address information to what you've supplied. If they don't match, they won't approve the order.

I ordered a 4 gig ram for my mac pro from OWC and they shipped to my home in 5 days (i live in Italy) via fedex. I payed the Custom fees directly to fedex man when he delivered the package to me. (About 25% of the final price).

Perfect deal with owc. No problems with the verification system using Visa.

i ordered from owc and used a different shipping address and name than my cc billing address and name... they called me up on the phone and verified and sent me an email as well, and my product showed up the next day... i never replied or did anything with the email cause the phone call took care of it

I think the email address is simply so they can contact you, so I don't think any additional email addresses are necessary. It is important that the billing address matches the billing address of the credit card you are using. The name on the card must also match.

You might want to contact your CC company to find out what is happening.

My mastercard has been denying a lot of online purchases lately-even from placing I´ve previously ordered. I always have to call and tell them to let it go through and that it is not fraud.
I would as MacinDoc suggested, contact them first.

*I wonder if Mastercard's database was hacked recently and they are being super careful and trying not to let the cat out of the bag?

The same thing happens to me with my USD136.11 order at OWC. Status indicates Approval Denied. Upon calling my CC company, my Visa card was charged.

Now I'm waiting for their CSR to respond, and if it is not favourable to me, I'm gonna held them liable for their failed verificator system.:mad:
