Well, a white casing with attached A5 chip and stamped as N94 was shown on this very site not so long ago, and today Apple has entered N94 in it's listings and the label for the iPhone 4S is a go. The only other entry is the N90A, which will be no more than the 8GB model of the existing N90, the iPhone 4.
So if the iPhone 4S is the N97 according to the WSJ, and the iPhone 4 is going to become the N90A, are we going to see an iPhone model in BETWEEN the N90A and N97? No, we're not.
The N94 is, at this time, the iPhone 4S. The proof is in the pictures on this very site.
Oh, and first sentence in your little link? "ONE of it's codenames is N97" ... not THE codename.
