at first it didn't seem to want to connect to the network but within a few minutes it should connect. after that it's all smooth sailing.

i disagree
i personally like BitTorrent. More legit than the non-legit uses though. Getting big Linux ISOs is as simple as downloading the torrent and clicking on it twice![]()
Eh, i disagree with that too. I've gotten 200KB/s+ on BitTorrent (as opposed to max 90KB/s for popular files with Poisoned/XFactor/Acq(whatever)/other Mac p2p apps), and BitTorrent is a great way to get idiot leechers out there to help seed. There are all these f*gs on P2P networks that never share, and with the way BitTorrent works, people generally download more the more they upload. And you can always limit your upload too, that should _never_ be a problem.aswitcher said:Bittorrent is increadibly slow and hungry on your uplink. I DESPISE leechers. That's why BitTorrent is starting to become ****. If everyone only uploaded 1/2 of what they downloaded, then we wouldnt have slow speeds and crazy **** like what happens on big files, I upload more than 4 gigs and I've only downloaded 1/2 of a 2 gig file.
wrongaswitcher said:Sure, but BitTorent to my knowledge doesn't allow any caping at all of the upload stream and so it can dominate the adsl and screw with other apps like safari. If they at least had an option to limit upload to the max download or some such then it wouldn't constantly interfer with traffic. Unless you know something I dont this is what happens when I use it.

here are the screenshots from (i believe) the latest versions of the official BitTorrent client for Mac and Tomato Torrent, my favorite torrent app
There are other places in the two apps to change the upload speed and other prefs, but those two are the easiest to find and the first to come to mind.

i'd post a screenie of azureus too, but seems that sf is down for maintenance right now (and azureus, because it is hosted on sf - well the download links from the mirrors anyway - can't be gotten).aswitcher said:Ok, well I'll have another look around and see if I can find a version with these features
