I find I really like center comp a lot for sports photos. Sometimes I move them to the ROT, but when it's just one on one like this, I center them. I took this photo on Saturday but didn't edit it until today, so it mostly counts for this week (I do normally try to shoot ahead so I have an example, I just didn't get to these in time).

I've had so many ideas for center composition but this week has been insanely busy. I'm hoping to have time in the next few days to shoot. I took this picture today and wondered if it would be considered center composition? I know she is in the middle but she is also in the bottom third of the frame. Figured I'd learn something today to make up for not shooting earlier this week. 😂

I would classify your image as a ROT (rule of thirds) image. Although the dog is centered from side to side, he is definitely on the bottom third line. I really like this composition for this image, though, you've made great use of framing.

You would have to crop out an awful lot to turn this into a center comp, and I much prefer the framing and breathing space of the way you composed it.

I think deep down I knew the answer to that. haha I'm just not a center comp shooter. I need to get better at it. Thanks for the input.

You don't have to get better at it if you don't like it! The goal of these challenges is to push us out of our comfort zones into something we might not ordinarily do. Sometimes the topics will really resonate with us and help moves us to more sophisticated shooting. Sometimes we just don't like the topic and never want to do it again. It's totally fine to not ever shoot a center comp image again. ❤️

This picture was shot more or less by testing the close up capabilities of my only lens for the A7iV (I am currently trying to figure out if I need a macro for newborn photography 😅).

This would be my personal favorite of this weeks topic. Lots of blurry things (cat on the right, left some candles) but the sun was shining through the window on the one flower - did not had to change the decoration 🤣
