Pacific Tsunami, 8.3 Earthquake

    Word is coming in of a massive tsunami in the Pacific Ocean after an 8.3 magnitude earthquake struck earlier today. Initial reports concern American Samoa at the moment but there are worrying signs of many people already missing.

    Due to arrive here in about 30 minutes. The surge is only expected to be six to ten inches with the ocean level.

    Tsunami alerts withdrawn around the Pacific. It appears to have been a major disaster for the people of Samoa and the territory of American Samoa,over 100 dead in Samoa and forty in American Samoa.Planes are on the way from NZ to Samoa and Obama has declared the territory of American Samoa a disaster area.


    Six confirmed deaths in Tonga.
