if someone wants to reinstall only one software (or several) but not the whole panther or tiger package, there's a solution: Pacifist !!!
it allows you to install single packages from the intall cds. this isn't possible if you don't get pacifist. (i was stucked because i had deleted Mail.app software and i was looking for a way to reinstall it and someone told me about pacifist in a mac forum, and now it works again !!)
