This seems like such an easy project that someone with very little woodworking experience can do themselves.

Simply 2 pieces of wood. Attach them together at an angle with either a metal hinge, or a wooden, triangle wedge. Cut a hole in one of the pieces of wood, and a notch.

I can make one of these for like $2-$3 in about 30 minutes of my time.

It's also a charger. There's a built-in inductive charger in there. That's impressive.

The hate for the :apple:Watch in this thread is puzzling. I remember feeling puzzled by Apple's release of the iPod in 2001, but the Watch makes good sense. Once people start using it, I think they will quickly change their minds. The price is a bit of a hurdle, though. No way that I can afford a $450 (CAD) wristwatch. Guess that's why I also still have an iPhone 4... can't swallow the upgrade price of a new iPhone 6. $300 + 2 years @ $100 a month... no thanks.

I thought this was only a stand - you had to use Apple's charger by inserting it into the stand.

The price is okay for the sports watch, but the upgrade of $200, plus the BANDS are the worst part. A standard leather band that I can buy at Walmart for $10 is $149!!! I know the quality is a little better, but then at least give us some cheaper options!

But I DO think the watch is very good for this early in the game. Yes, you have to charge it every night, and yes, it needs a phone for most of what it does, but the watch does so much more.

Judging by the comments here this will be Tim Cook's defining failure as CEO.

If this thing is so despised among Mac (note I said Mac and not Apple) fans and technology enthusiasts it's going to make Apple a laughing stock.

MR is about as an accurate place to measure Apple product reception by the public as would be a lion's popularity at a zebra convention.

By your theory the iPod was a complete dud, Apple had hubris to release the iPod mini, which forced Apple into Chapter 11 bankruptcy, and then the final blow came when the giant iPhone with the feminine product sounding name debuted to become the worst selling product of all time.

There are more anti-Apple, anti-consumer device trolls and luddites here than the GM CEOs of the Last Quarter 20th Century Memorial Convalescence Center in Detroit.

The only laugh stocks are all those anonymous posters one can dredge up in the archives saying how stupid X Apple product was and to sell your AAPL stock now!

I think that was the most disappointing keynote ever. Not even Steve Jobs could save that one.

Yes. Wasn't that the same one w/ the iPod socks and $100 case? That was an hour of my life I'd love to get back.
