I was writing a very lengthy essay when my battery died. I proceeded to press the power button to restart the computer and suddenly Pages 2008 is closed along with my unsaved document.

How can I save this one and restore it back? I have no clue where to find it.

It's doubtful. Since Pages has no autosave feature, you need to hit command-s every so often. So if you'd saved this file already and Time Machine did a backup you may have a copy of it, although probably not in its most recent form.

Sorry to hear that. Just remember to save it first thing from now on and keep hitting command-s. Good luck on your paper.
