I think Eddie Cue and team have lost touch with the iWorks user base. The new Keynote is basically a POS. And that's one of my nicer comments about these changes. The rest will go to Apple's feedback page.
Why can't you duplicate a page anymore in Pages???
It's driving me mad!
...
Does anyone know if it still possible to number pages as i, ii, iii, etc. instead of using numbers? Can't find that function anywhere!
Open the bullets and list drop down and select "Harvard".
It doesn't work. I highlight a page number as it is now (i.e., a number) and when I select Harvard from the bullets and list drop down menu it doesn't change the format of the page number from a number into "i". Are you sure this is how I should do it?
EDIT: Figured it out. It's on the Section tab of the setup inspector! Next problem: TOC still shows numbers instead of "i"s for those pages! I tried re-building the TOC and no dice. Any clues? :S
This is insane. They have to bring some of this stuff back eventually. Hopefully not four years from now... Right?
They should have renamed the app 'Page'.
(Sorry I can't help)
Don't count on it. FCPX has come a long way but they're STILL adding back FCP7 features. Aperture... god only knows I'm clutching onto my copy of 3.2. I can DEFINITELY wait to see what Aperture X looks like. Judging by Logic's redesign, I didn't think it would be too bad, but after the iWork debacle, looks like I'm going to have to hold out.
I don't know how Apple can be this stupid. Next thing you know, they'll remove 70% of the features in OS X 10.10 to promote "parity" with iOS 7.
Does anyone know how to edit a header? I have a 2 x 2 table with the Date, pages numbers and the title, etc. I cannot TAB over to get to the right side table cells. I can't TAB key at all in a table. Had to go back to V4 to finish my work.
If anyone's overwritten a Pages document in v5 and has no back-up, I found a recovery solution:
Open your document in Pages 5 and go to File > Revert to > Browse all versions...
Use the Time Machine interface to restore the version before you opened in Pages 5. You'll get a repeat of the warning about how your document is going to be messed up, but you can OK that.
Close the document.
You should now be able to open the same document in Pages '09.
Thank you for spotting. And than again, this is evidence that Apple knew some people would continue to prefer the paid old version over the free new version and went with downgrading it anyway.I just noticed that there is also a "Pages '09" option in the export menu.
