Hello All,

I am attempting to run a Mail Merge in Pages '09, but the function as built into the software is not communicating with my contact lists. I have tried moving the list (it's for my sister's Sweet 16 party, I know, I know) to and from my hard drive and iCloud to no avail - the app/software is stating that I have made no entries in contacts, regardless of how I format the merge fields. Screenshot attached.

It is my understanding that the software is fairly robust and can pull only certain parts of a contact card, omitting the rest - so I'm not sure why nothing is being detected here at all. If anyone could be of help, I would be very grateful. Thanks!

Looks like you still need to add the merge fields. Select your "first name" text and then click the plus button on the merge inspector and link it to the correct merge field.

Do the same for the other placeholder text and then try the merge.

Hi Sahnert,

Thanks for pointing that out - there are no merge fields in that screenshot, but I'm getting the same errors with the fields populated as "First Name", "Home Street Name", "Home City", "Home State", "Home Zip". I believe this matches my contact entries - would discrepancies in merge field formatting affect the ability of the app to find contact lists?
