Just created this profile to do a bit of frustrated catharsis.
I would really want to use Pages as my main and only word processor. Really. I love how clean and stable it is, and the iCloud integration. But there are some lingering, unexplainable bugs that keep pushing me away towards Word. The most important two are footnotes-related:
1) You cannot format all the footnotes in one simple step, as you do in Word; you'll either need to go one by one (which in a long text can take hours), or do some hidden voodoo trick I don't even know.
2) You cannot copy / paste a text with footnotes between Pages and Word. By doing so, the footnotes disappear. (In fact, you cannot copy / paste an isolated footnote inside Pages itself!).
And let alone commentaries, etc.
So, Apple people, dear: you need to start addressing the simplest needs of a word processor user. Most of us don't care at all about fancy templates or color palettes; we just want the writing to be safe and simple.
Come on. Keep in mind that the new Office 365 for Mac is really good, and now even cheap. But still I'd stay in Pages if you just gave me the basics.
