I like Pages too - a nice alternative to using word 👍

KeyNote is also great - way better than PowerPoint - IMHO

FWIW - another option for KeyNote is to make a template for a portrait orientation 8 X 11 - KeyNote can be a great "easy to use" desktop publishing app - especially when using losts of graphics - easy to place pictures and images and create text boxes around the images, logo's etc.

On the other hand - hard to beat outlook and excel - these microsoft Apps I have never been able to "give up"

It's fine if you can work within the limitations, but I can, so it's my go-to writing app. Word is technically better but it just feels laggy on my Mac, which is distracting when I just want to write things. While we're at it, Numbers is pretty good on its own merits, and Keynote absolutely blows Powerpoint out of the water

I do miss the older Version 4 layout, though. Feels like I have to click through way too much of the newer UI just to do things I used to do much quicker in the older version. It was really handy to have multiple floating inspector windows that I could organize around my desktop... Sometimes I go between the newer and older versions just depending on my mood on that day.

I love Pages and Keynote. I use both a lot.

Pages has a nice feature in that you can create a really large document. I don't know the limit. I've made posters roughly 4 feet high and 6 feet wide for conferences.

Somewhere in the last few years they added a feature to make shapes editable. Select a shape and choose:

Formet / Shapes and Lines / Make Editable

Now you can drag each corner of a shape any which way you like.

Because it is so flexible I use Keynote a lot just to create explanatory documents for family or workers doing projects on our home. I can take a photo of some part of the house and add it shapes, arrows, text and such to clarify what needs to be done. Just takes a few minutes.

Pages has been great since the first version. Whatever limitations it (apparently) has relative to Word, I've never felt them. I used Word plenty in school, and there's no comparison in my mind.

Pages is Apple’s version of Word. If I understand your question. Otherwise on a Mac it is definitely more user friendly with a much better interface than in iOS.

I previously subscribed and used Word to have full compatibility with work. But at work we have recently changed from Microsoft Office to Google suite. (That’s a whole other big discussion and frustration…) So have now cancelled my Office 365 subscription and starting to rely, for personal use, on Pages and rest of the Apple suite. OK Pages is not Word, but it is perfectly useable for majority of usage and functionality. I expect I will have more issues when trying to use Numbers instead of Excel?

Like all apps which have Mac and iOS versions, similar style and arrangement And usable on both, but more generally clearer and more efficient user interface on Mac.
