Can a pages file be saved in rich text format? or any other format other than ".pages"? thanks. I'm doing this mental map and i dont want me work to go in vain. I will have to put it on a flash and transport it (to a windows machine) to print it. So i would like to know

If you look under Export (in the File menu in the menubar) there are a number of different options for you to save your file out as including Rich Text.
