So yesterday my Macbook crashed for a while but eventually came back to life.

Today Pages didn't want to open. I'd click on a pages file on my desktop but the app icon would bounce once then stop, nothing happened.

I thought it'd be best to check for a software update, which I did...there was a Pages one.

Now, however, when I click on the app it says..
'The template ("null)" couldn't be found. It was moved or deleted'.

Can ANYONE help me? I have Pages files that I NEED to access soon.

Cheers

Did you try deleting Pages and reinstalling it from the CD?

Did I get a Pages CD with my Macbook? I think it was pre-installed.

I just deleted preferences and although the warning doesn't come up anymore, nothing opens. :(

So, then, you just purchased a Serial number online? I thought when you purchased it, even with the demo, they sent you a box with all the stuff in it...maybe not. Try to find the demo on Apple's website, reinstall, then put your serial in that way.

I didn't enter any serial number...

I'm very confused. The iWork that comes with your computer is only a trial, unless you had it preinstalled? I thought when they preinstalled apps, they sent you the packaging for it anyways in case you needed to reinstall it. I would call them if this is the case and find out what you need to do.

You should have gotten the installation CD if it came preinstalled--at least I did.

Did you delete the user preferences or system preferences?

Users/username/library/preferences/

or Library/preferences

Also note, if you delete the system wide preferences, you may be asked for the serial number.

Do any of the other iWork apps work? If so and if a serial number was required, you could get it in the file-->about menu.

Indeed, the physical packaging for preinstalled iWork is included in the box with the new computer.
