I purchased a Verizon iPhone X from the Apple store and paid in full as I understand it should be unlocked and work with all CDMA and GSM carriers.

I would like to use it with T-Mobile as well as a different carrier overseas.

Will I need to activate it with Verizon first before I can use my own T-Mobile SIM card?

Saw some other threads that said it must be activated with Verizon first, while others said it does not and that I can use T-Mobile right away.

This question has been answered before somewhere, but I just picked up a Verizon iPhone X yesterday from Apple Store. Just took out the Verizon sim and inserted my 4 year old AT&T SIM card before powering on. The iPhone X activated so you dont have to activate on Verizon sim (unless you bought from
Target, Best Buy, or Walmart which are subject to US Reseller Flex policy).
