I recently switched from Windows to Mac. On my PC I used to use the application Paint to edit photos a lot, just to erase part of a picture or use the 'paintbrush.' Now I would like to be able to do the same thing on my mac. What software (preferably free, but cheap will do) can I get for my mac to do the same thing?

Why does it matter?
Paintbrush or Pixelmator, depending on how much you're planning to do. Pixelmator is more of a mini mini mini mini mini mini mini mini mini, mini version of Photoshop than a maxi version of MS Paint.
Fortunately neither have the horrid Ribbon interface.
