Painting My MacBook Pro

So since everyone is hawking this thread - I might as well ask all the clever people in here with such precise opinions about what sucks and what doesn't - what would be some ideal "decorations" for the macbook pro then?

I'm wanting to put my website name torbenscharling.com (or TorbenScharling.com) on my 15" unibody, in a noticable and "pro"or "cool" looking fashion. But what do you guys suggest I do, since something like what the OP and the quoted guy is doing, clearly doesn't appeal to most people... ?

You should do whatever YOU want to do. Everyone here, clearly, has their own opinion on what looks good and what doesn't. You should just find something that looks good to you, or like the OP, something with some personal meaning, and go with it. As you can see by quite a few posts in this thread, if it is something that you like, then it has accomplished its task and will be appreciated. I'm sort of indifferent on the artwork on the OP's laptop, but I can GREATLY appreciate the emotional connection it adds.

The problem that comes up, as proven in this thread, is that some people can't seem to differentiate between constructive criticism and just plain rude disapproval. Instead of leaving decent feedback for the OP (who I'm not even sure really wanted it), some people in this thread went right for the jugular, and ripped it to shreds. No one is saying that people shouldn't be entitled to their own opinion, but there should at least be an expected level of decency and courtesy around here.
 
Calm down people, only so many people can piss in his corn flakes before he has to get a new bowl.

OP, glad you like the result and that it has a lot of meaning to you.
 
not a fan myself, but hey, at least its unique and not another decal of Iron Man holding the apple on the lid lol

I'm sorry, were you the person asking the question to which I was replying in that post of mine you quoted? No? Hmm, that's funny. The person I WAS replying to asked a question, and I answered with my opinion on the matter. No one said you had to agree with me, but I surely shouldn't have to move on, just because you tell me. Right? I mean, hell, you said it yourself in this very thread...

i actually just finished mine... but this was taken right before it was done, things were straightened up and the people across the bottom were taken off...

Also, no offense, but the Internet meme historian in me sees a subtle ****** in the way the hands are holding the heart. 😀

Anyone know of a clever way to cover up the stupid apple on the lid without using a case? It drives me crazy and screams for attention. If I could turn it off, I would. 😀

Love it...not the artwork but how, yet again, this thread has not had a single post from the OP beyond the original one. Never once coming back to defend, argue or even say "thanks".

Yet people have turned it into their own "i know whats cool, and you arent it" topic.

Jeez people, go to another topic already.

I like the shot of the street execution in Vietnam Woody Allen used in one of his films as a mural in his character's kitchen, I think. (What a terrible sentence!)

As a designer of these "lame decals" I would like to point out your hypocrisy.

As a person who doesn't care one way or another about what goes on your laptop I would like to let you know you missed the point. There is no hypocrisy involved. I really don't give a crap what he, or anyone, has on their own laptop. It is their personal item, they can do with it what they will. I was simply throwing some clearly rude, and uncalled for hate at his own laptop in the hopes that he might see that it goes both ways.
 
One persons art, is another persons scribble.

I can appreciate that MacBook, it's nice to see something unique, and not following "the crowd"
 
Sorry I've been away from the thread everyone! I don't do the best job of checking back on MR

I'm still super jazzed with my 'Book - definitely draws a lot of positive attention and gets me excited for all the art I'm doing off of this laptop - the paint is slightly chipping, but so far, the SMASH KO markers used for this project are excellent! Highly recommended to anyone else who wants to enterprise on this sort of thing

Space - the Keith Harring art on your 'Book is beautiful - well done! What paint/markers did you use? Lemme know if it holds up
