My first gen Apple Watch is having trouble getting local weather data. It’ll load data for two preset cities but won’t load data for local weather (even when I’m in one of these two cities). I’ve tried restarting the watch and my phone, changing the cities on the weather app on my phone, and turning Bluetooth on and off and nothing seems to be fixing the problem. My last resort option is to unpair/pair again but my watch is currently running watchOS 3 and I don’t want OS 4 (tried it out on a watch I ended up returning and wasn’t a fan). Does anyone know of a way to either fix the weather app problem or unpair/pair without updating to OS 4?

Pair it to an iPhone that is not running iOS 11 or higher! Sorry but that is the only way.

For example, you need to ensure your iPhone is running iOS 9 to update Apple Watch to watchOS 2 and iOS 10 to update Apple Watch to watchOS 3.

See the strange thing is, when I got my iPhone 8+ I was able to pair the Apple Watch running watchOS 3 with it. Not sure what I did, but it didn’t ask me to update the software; it seems like there is a way to do what I need to do, I’m just not exactly sure what I did that made it bypass the update

Actually it is the other way around or public beta testing of iOS wouldn't be possible;). You can use wOS one version back on iOS (wOS 3 with iOS 11) but you CAN'T use iOS a version back (wOS 4 with iOS 10).
