I have a stereo pair of HomePods in my living room. When asking Siri a question it only plays out of 1 HomePod. It's the same one. Even if I'm closer to the other. Is this normal?

Yes, in a stereo pair only one HomePod functions as Siri.

You can touch the other one to move between the two.

I agree it's odd, but normal.

Siri is already slow enough, having to add an audio buffer to sync her reply over 2 speakers would make her even slower.
