I can pair my watch with Apple TV- I can see it listed but I don't get any controls on watch. It just shows the add device button after I have entered in the code.

I also experienced this with our bedroom Apple TV. It works great with the living Apple TV. Out of curiosity, is yours an ATV 2? I THINK the one in the bedroom might be. I was wondering if that was the reason.

Gonna be super bummed if the TV2 is unsupported.
Guess I'll be upgrading in June.

Same here

I am experiencing the exact same thing, latest gen Apple TV, enter the code, shows up on the screen , but watch stays at the add device screen.

Did it 10 times then gave up. Anybody figure it out?

Cheers

And both devices are on the same wifi network?

I had issues with remote on my iPhone because my ATV was on my Comcast modems wifi and phone on my Airport wifi

I had same problem but then made sure my iPhone and Apple TV were on the same network and worked fine.

I have Apple TV that purchased in November. Not sure what number..
Apple TV is hard wired to my network.
If it helps my remote app on my phone not longer connects either, and I have home sharing enabled.
I'm going to get on with Apple support later.

ATV2 watch remote works for me. Day one it didn't show up. I assumed it wasn't supported as I don't have the latest ATV2 firmware(jail broken) but today I checked again and it works with no setup at all. Possible a reboot would help. If you previously had the iPhone remote app setup I don't think there is any setup required for the watch app.

I got it to work! I did a few different things so I'm not exactly sure what got it to work!
I deleted the remote app on my phone and re downloaded
I logged Out of home share on all devices
I restarted all devices including iMac
Re logged into home sharing on iPhone iMac and Apple tv
Then I set up remote app on iPhone then on Apple watch.

I didn't even enter a code. I turned my Apple TV on and clicked add device on my watch and the Apple TV showed up. gestures and such work fine.

Both my ATVs showed up on the watch Remote app automatically (both were already on the Remote app on the phone, which may have helped!).

This is one of the great AW uses: not using the phone remote app or the ATV remote. Works great!

I had this issue and restarted my Airport Extreme via the Airport Utility and that solved the problem with my 2nd Generation Apple TV. I had been getting the message "Could Not Connect. Make sure 'Apple TV' is in range and powered on" in the Remote app on the Watch. Hope this helps.

Make sure you've updated the aTV software! For the last few updates, I've not received s notification on my aTV...I e either seen them in a post here, or went into settings and manually checked for updates every now and then.
