I started pairing my Apple Watch (S7) with my new iPhone 14 Pro and something failed. Now neither iPhone (13 Pro / 14 Pro) recognize it at all.

What can I do? I don’t want to erase my Apple Watch setup.

Same for me. I’ve been burned by this in previous years too. I’ve wasted a lot of time trying to see if there’s a workaround which it looks like there’s not. The last backup I have is from going through this process last year.

My old phone thinks it’s still paired to the watch but the watch doesn’t report that it’s connected. In Bluetooth on the old phone the Watch connection is still there and says connected.

I’d reset it but I’d love to be able to back it up first.

If only the watch backed itself up to the watch app or iCloud when it was charging.

Meh.

Neither of my iPhones (13 Pro or 14 Pro) are paired to my watch yet neither can connect to it either. I’m so frustrated.

I was having the same issue. After unpairing it from my 13 Pro I had to do a factory reset and erase all content on the Apple Watch. Once I did that I was able to pair it to the 14 Pro and restore it from backup. I see you really don’t want to erase your Apple Watch but that is what worked for me.

I am about to do that but I don’t know how to know if I have a backup or not.

If you haven’t erased your old phone go to settings, general, iPhone storage, Watch. From there you should see a list of backups that were saved to your phone.

ETA, you can do the same on your new phone.

I did a complete erase of my Apple Watch. I was a little worried that my carrier would think I was adding a new line because I had to select “Add new watch” (at least I think that is what I did). After it all finished, my watch was back to normal and linked to my new iPhone 14 Pro.

Thanks for everyone’s comments. I was persuaded to do the complete erase and that worked. I am happy now. :)
