Ok, I've got a question and maybe you lot are more equipped to answer it than the hopeless support people that Palm hire. I've asked them and the response was vague and unsatisfactory.

Can you HotSync a Palm device to an Intel Mac, with HotSync and all associated Palm programs running under Rosetta - i.e. can a Rosetta program access the USB port is my question, I guess.

I don't want to have to pay for Missing Sync, the Palm software suits my needs on the Mac side just fine. On the Windows side, I'm covered.

Yes.

Edit: Ok, perhaps a one word answer isn't satisfactory. But I've installed and am running Palm's HotSync for the Mac on both a MacBook and a new iMac. I haven't had any issues with it.

It works perfectly for me too. I have a MacBook as well as an iMac Intel and it syncs just fine with both. It also works using the iSync conduit so you can sync with Address Book, iCal, etc.
