panasonic tv output

For some random reason the sound output changed from my panasonic TV to my internal speakers on my mac mini. Now when I try to click on Panasonic TV in sound output, nothing changes? Is there any reason why?

try unplugging and replugging the HDMI cable,

if that doesn't work, try rebooting the mini?
