Just delete them from the camera. Better yet, after dumping the photos into the computer, use the camera to format the card. This is more reliable (tends to flag any errors on the card before you fill it up with new photos) and is faster than deleting individually.
How do you like the TZ5? I have a TZ1 that I keep with me constantly but the manual lens cover is a bit of a pain.
That's the other thing. The TZ1 (which can't delete photos via USB either btw) starts at 36mm whereas the TZ5 starts at 28mm. May be time for an upgrade.
