I don't care about the ads, it's unlimited skipping of songs, which I wasn't aware was one of the paid features of Pandora One, is it?

Additionally, I wouldn't care about the skip limit if Pandora was better at doing what it was supposed to. Pandora seems to have loosened up their song matching algorithms over time or something, it used to do a great job at finding new music for me that was exactly like the music I liked, now it throws a lot of crap at me that's not even remotely close. I don't think I should have to keep listening to stuff I don't want to after I've thumbs downed too many songs.

ever since Spotify started I hardly use Pandora. here what songs when I want no commercials etc. for me the $4.99 paid service is justified. Spotify also has a much larger music library. no need to really have anything in my ipod app either. oh and no throwing the pet shop boys at me because I like Onigo Boingo

Then find another place to get free music.

To be honest I'd just like Pandora to be the service it was when I first started using it 5 years ago. They gained a huge fan-base with an apparently unsustainable service and then once they had an army of regular users they started sneaking in restrictions and changes that totally transformed the service into something different. I still haven't found a competitor that provides something better, but it's still disappointing that Pandora isn't the service that it used to be.

I've been with Pandora from the beginning as well and I also wish it was what it was but the fact is that they couldn't sustain the service and were losing money. They didn't sneak anything in and announced that they were doing a paid service due to fees they were having to pay, I remember reading about it. That being said, it still doesn't give folks the right to steal from the company, they are a business and provide a service. Part of it is free but you are limited to ads and a few skips, if you don't like that they simply pay for the service.
