Maybe there is something to this Apple car business as it seems like they aren't putting much effort into CarPlay:

Apple is a no-show at the New York show

A year ago at this show, Apple went big in the Big Apple -- proudly demonstrating CarPlay in the then-new 2015 C class in at the Mercedes stand. (True fact: The Apple people doing those demos last year would tell you only their first names; they wouldn’t disclose their last names or give out business cards.)

But this year, Apple is hard to find at the show, if it is even here. Moreover, apart from Kia, other Apple “partners” said they had no information on when CarPlay would be out. Honda has a Silicon Valley lab that, according to Honda executives, is working closely with Apple. But the 2016 Civic was unveiled without a mention of CarPlay, and Honda Motor’s Acura brand acknowledged the 2016 ILX, MDX and RDX won’t have CarPlay.

Asked about CarPlay, one Mercedes executive rolled his eyes and said, “Oh that thing.” This person said Mercedes has had no information on when CarPlay will appear in its vehicles, adding, “There’s been some slippage.”

Where did you see that it was confirmed? I just googled didn't see anything

It's not supported. The ILX-007 does have a Bluetooth chip in it though according to a tear down of it and cross referencing with an FCC ID it actually includes a wifi/Bluetooth. Whether they will enable it in a firmware upgrade is the question.
