Hey guys, a friend of mine jailbroke his iphone 6 ios8.1 with pangu on his PC, and i am surprised it runs very smoothly.

i looked it up online, and there currently doesnt seem to be a pangu software compatible with macbooks?

is there one that i am not aware of???

    thanks for the help:)

There hasn't been a Mac release yet.

I simply installed XP on my old MacBook using Bootcamp and was able to JB my iPhone and iPad.

I might do a VM for XP. Just to have it available for fun lol. I have two old cd-keys for it from "back in the day". lol

I have two XP install discs that came with old HP computers. In the past, I was able to use them with Bootcamp but for some reason, they no longer worked. I had to download another copy of it from the net and burn it to a disc and then it worked along with my serial number glued to the back of that old HP.

I created a bootable external USB drive with Windows 8.1 just so I could jailbreak. It was a hassle but I feel accomplished lol. The easier way is just to use Parallels' 14 day trial. Had to use that to create the USB drive anyway.

    It is kind of fun.

Also just for fun, I installed one of those old AOL discs I had, 9.0 and there are still people who use AOL. Most of the chatrooms are empty now but there are still user created ones being used.

    Snipped from another thread: http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=20260924&postcount=5

I haven't tried this myself, but others have & reported success. Same idea, different software & Windows version.

Why are people so afraid to create a Windows VM on their Mac?

For me, iTunes had to be running with my phone connected and ready to sync. Had to hit "trust" to grant access, etc.

Yep ... and you also need iTunes. Once you're all set up, it only takes a few minutes to jailbreak. Make sure you have a backup of your stuff before jailbreaking though ... just in case.

    Pingu just tweeted:

PanguTeam: v1.2.1 is out with Cydia 1.1.16 bundled which solves the issue u may stuck at booting after backup/restore.

PanguTeam: Also we are already working on Mac version. It may come out in couple of days. Pls wait a bit more time.

Hopefully will be perfect timing I've been trying a bunch of tweaks out that aren't compatible so waiting for my next day off (Saturday) to re-jailbreak and set-up as new. Would love to actually use my macbook pro instead of my windows pos from the 90s.

Hope 8.1.1 waits till next month or year lol!!

I think we'll see 8.1.1 within a week or twos hopefully the Mac version comes out so those who are waiting for it won't be locked out.

If we have already updated to 8.1 and we are just waiting for the Mac jailbreak, why would we be locked out if 8.1.1 drops before the jailbreak? Just don't update to 8.1.1...
