Panic: Restore .mac (Tiger) Backup on new Leopard machine

Hi there,

today my beloved PG G4 17'' died due to a broken hard-drive.

Luckily I backed up the system on an external hard drive last week using .mac backup utility (incremental backup).

Does anybody know if it is possible to restore this incremental backup on my new leopard machine that i just ordered (can' try myself yet...)?

Yes the .mac backup software is compatible with Leopard but you must ensure its version 3.1.2. You should be able to download this from your iDisk Software folder. As it does not really backup system files you should be ok. If you do get problems just install Tiger, restore the backup, then migrate to leopard.
