Ha! I knew I wouldn't regret not upgrading. My 4S is in perfect condition and will have all the features of the iP5. Other than a few design changes and the A6 chip, I see no reason why one would want to upgrade from the 4S.
It seems that Siri should have been a feature for the iP5 because I see no real selling points in the new phone. Also Siri would probably be a lot better if they would have waited to release it with the iP5.
I felt the same way, was just going to keep my iPhone 4S.
Then I thought about it and said: "I live where there is LTE, I will be annoyed once apps make great use of the bigger screen and only look so-so on the 4S, the A6 processor looks to be impressive".
BUT, the biggest reason was that I sold my 4S 32GB for $475 on eBay and was able to put it towards the purchase of an early upgrade iPhone 5. Yeah it will still cost me a little more out of pocket, but that's ok.
If I wait a year to sell the 4S for when the "5S" comes out, my 4S will not be worth $475 - it will probably halve the value.
So it was either, get more money for my 4S today but pay more up front for the 5. Or, get less money for the 4S in the year but pay less up front for the 5S.
In the end it almost evens out, and I'd rather just do it and have that joy for the next year+. I mean, my iPhone really is what I use the most, so in terms of gadgets and tech, its what I decided I should be spending my money on. I look at it more than my TV, computer, etc.
That and I'm finally off the S cycle, didn't want to keep missing the re-design. I had a 3GS and skipped the 4. Got the 4S and was nearly going to skip the 5.
I am however extremely glad to see that Apple did not gimp the 4S with a killer iphone 5 only feature. That's great. Hopefully a good sign for everyone going into the future.
