Panorama Photo Stitching

Any free software available for stitching several individual photos into one panorama photo. Windows has one that works terrific but cannot find any for OS X or in I Photo 2009.

Google "hugin"
Not the most user friendly app, obviously capable of a great deal though. I followed some tutorials for basic stitching of flat images, in my case A4 scans of an A3 document. It did a good job of stitching them. And it's free...

There are some panorama plugins for GIMP.

See if you can get your hands on the software disk that comes with Canon cameras - it has a great Mac panorama stitcher. No idea if it would work with photos taken from a non-Canon camera though.
